Subaru Motor announces the official start of accepting orders for the updated mid-size all-wheel drive crossover Subaru Forester 2022 model year

How to distinguish the new Subaru Forester from the old one? By colors! Yes, the car received an updated palette of body colors, which included a new shade of Cascade Green Silica. The crossover is also equipped with new head optics, an updated front bumper and radiator grille, along with a modified design of the wheel rims. There are no changes in the interior.

As for technology, the list of possible equipment has been supplemented by the High Beam Assist (HBA) automatic high beam control system, an adaptive steering system when following a vehicle in front, and a lane centering system, which perfectly complement the adaptive cruise control. In addition, the Forester is equipped with an automatic emergency maneuvering system, which is activated if it is impossible to prevent a collision using only braking. With its help, the car uses the steering and finds the optimal trajectory to avoid an obstacle.

Speaking of power plants, the car will still be available with 2.0 and 2.5 opposed engines, which work in tandem with a Lineartronic variator. Prices for the 2022 Subaru Forester start at RUB 2,909,000.

The Sport version received bronze inserts on the bumpers, sills and exhaust pipes. Light-alloy 19-inch wheels complete the look.

The new multimedia system immediately catches the eye in the cabin. It is made in the form of a vertical screen. The instrument panel is analog, but supplemented by a small “digital” screen. Physical buttons have been preserved almost everywhere. There are two cup holders on the central tunnel.

Subaru will produce the engine for the sports cars: this is a 2.4-liter 260-horsepower “boxer”. It debuted several years ago on the large Subaru Ascent crossover. On it, the internal combustion engine develops 264 hp and 376 Nm.

The new BRZ is made on a modernized chassis of the previous one, that is, the previously circulating rumors about the transfer of the coupe to the TNGA platform did not come true, the car retained its own chassis. In terms of the body frame, the car is also partially unified with its predecessor, but its design has been thoroughly redesigned. At the front, the chassis uses a subframe designed from scratch – it is made “with elements of the Subaru Global Platform”. Under the hood of the BRZ the most serious changes: the 2.0-liter boxer engine with a capacity of 200 hp gave way to a 2.4-liter naturally aspirated engine with the same layout, its output is 228 hp. It works in conjunction with a 6-speed “mechanics” or a 6-speed “automatic”.

The design of the new BRZ is more aggressive than that of the old model – the radiator grille has become wider, the plastic panels are more expressive. The roof line has a barely noticeable longitudinal stamping for the feeling of a “double bubble” – this is a reference to classic racing cars.
